January Knit Knacks

This month in Knit Knacks, we'll continue on our various projects. We still need pieces for our Art Auction Item. Remember Hanby Friends and Family can also contribute to our Art Auction Project. Any size of square or rectangle can be used.

Several of the kids took home Sock Monkey Materials and Instructions in December. Hopefully they found some time over the break to work on these. Please bring these back to the club this month and we'll continue to work on them. The kids may need some extra tools for making the monkeys. They will need thread needles and straight pins. Any kind will do. A spool of thread (brown or beige) will also be helpful.

Also, speaking of supplies, since we are midway through the year, it would probably be a good time to check your child's knitting supplies to make sure they have what they need. We have a lost and found for the club which is filled with several items. If your child is finished using his or her club knitting board, please return that to our supply box. If you'd like to purchase your child's knitting board, you can do so for $3.00.

Finally, once again a plea for more parental help. In order for the kids to get the most out of the knitting club, we need a lot of support from our parents both at our meetings and at home. If you've not attended a meeting before, please consider taking a few hours off in the afternoon to help out at one of our meetings. Even if you can't tell the difference between a knitted pearl and one from an oyster shell, we can use the extra hands.
