Welcome Back to Knit Knacks!

Welcome back to school and to another year of Knit-Knacks. We will be meeting after school on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of each month to learn to knit and create with yarn. This year we’ll try our hand at knitting boards which is similar to the spool/can knitting we did last year. We also still have some sock monkey material for those who haven’t made a sock monkey yet.

So that all club members will have knitting supplies, we’ll be offering a knitting kit this year. Since some kids might already have some of the knitting materials, full or partial kits may be purchased.

A bag to carry knitting supplies will also be helpful. Donations of extra yarn and knitting supplies for the group would be greatly appreciated. Please send donations to school marked “For Knit-Knacks”

Children may bring a snack to eat at the beginning of each club meeting. No other snacks will be provided. Oily or powdery snacks should be avoided because they stick to the hands and then to the needles which makes for icky knitting.

Parents are highly encouraged to attend and assist with meetings. No experience is necessary. Adults can learn right along with the kids!
