Knit-Knacks Warm Buddies!

What supplies do you need to make your Warm Buddy? (If you'd like to make a Warm Buddy, please bring the following items to our next meeting. As usual, extra donations are appreciated for use by the club.)

Yarn! - This will be used to make your buddy’s hair. You can also knit your buddy a hat or scarf!
Buttons – These will be for your buddy’s eyes.
Sharpie Marker – To create your buddy’s face.
Tube Sock – New or gently used. Adult sized.
White Rice – To fill your buddy.

Directions…
1. Sew buttons on your sock for eyes.
2. Fill your buddy with rice and tie a knot in the open end.
3. Wrap yarn in a loop around your hand and elbow several times. Tie the yarn loop in a knot around the knot in the sock – Your buddy now has hair!
4. Fold the top of the sock over the knot and hair to create a hat. You can also make a little spool knit hat for your buddy if you’d like.
5. Wrap yarn around hand 50-100 times and tie in the middle. Cut the loops to make a pom-pom. Attach the pom-pom to the sock or spool knit hat.
6. Draw a face on your buddy with the Sharpie Marker.
7. You can also finger knit a scarf for your warm buddy and tie it around it’s neck below the face.

To use your Warm Buddy…
Place your warm buddy in a plastic grocery bag and place in the microwave for about 2 minutes. Warm Buddies are nice to snuggle with on cold nights and will help soothe sore muscles!
Warm Buddies do not like to take baths. If you need to wash your Warm Buddy, you’ll need to take it apart and refill when clean.
